Mission Statement
Equestrian Connection improves the physical, mental and emotional well-being of children and adults with special needs by providing equine assisted therapy and other therapies that fill the service gap. We serve all those who need it despite their ability to pay.
About This Cause
Equestrian Connection is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose facility is located near Lake Forest, Illinois, offering therapy primarily, although not exclusively, with the use of horses. We serve children and adults with special needs from all over the greater Chicagoland area. Our clients live in over 70 different communities from Racine, Wisconsin on the north to Berwyn, Illinois on the south and from many communities along Lake Michigan on the east to Woodstock, Illinois on the west. Currently our clients range in age from 2 years to 85 years old. We offer a wide range of ever-expanding programs including hippotherapy, therapeutic riding, art therapy, massage therapy and job skills training, all taught by our highly professional and experienced staff of therapists and instructors. In order to reach out to more people with special needs, Equestrian Connection works in conjunction with numerous community and academic-based organizations that serve those with disabilities, including special education school districts and special recreational therapy organizations. We also work closely with volunteer agencies, schools, churches and other riding facilities in our area to cover our volunteer needs.
