About This Cause
Our Mission Glenwood Retirement Village is a Christian ministry that exists to fulfill the call of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our mission is to serve others with excellence, enhancing their quality of life through innovative health, housing, spiritual, and social services. Our Philosophy For nearly 50 years, we have helped individuals and their families’ transition to a new lifestyle. We diligently listen to the resident and their family to truly understand needs and concerns. We offer support through the entire transitioning process, whether coming to the Village to live or to rehabilitate. Our dedicated staff, volunteers and Board of Directors at Glenwood Retirement Village will help address concerns by doing our very best to meet every need. A Community of Care - Amenities The Glenwood Retirement Village is a locally managed, independent, non-profit organization. We offer comfortable independent living, assisted living, skilled care, and safe/secure memory care in an atmosphere that has the ambiance of home. Our residents experience the joy of small town living with access to a local hospital and specialty clinics to meet most medical needs. A Beautiful and Convenient Location The Glenwood Retirement Village overlooks beautiful Lake Minnewaska—the 13th largest lake in Minnesota, which offers some of the best fishing and recreation in the area. The Village is conveniently located, with easy access to the hospital, city parks, churches, golfing, fishing, walking/biking paths, and the business district. We have our own 22-passenger bus that will help keep residents connected to the community. We offer a wide range of activities, social events, and services, which may include shopping, casino trips and sightseeing rides. Spiritual Services The Glenwood Retirement Village is affiliated with 9 area churches. We have a chaplain on staff as well as a lovely on-site chapel where we have devotions, bible study, and worship services. We are dedicated to providing spiritual services for residents of all faiths. You can feel comfort knowing our chaplain is always available to visit with you during times of illness, death, or for other special needs. Skilled Nursing: Glenwood Village Care Center Caring for residents since 1963, The Glenwood Village Care Center is an all-inclusive skilled nursing facility, providing both long and short-term care to residents 24 hours a day. We are a Medicare and Medicaid certified facility, offering a range of services designed to keep residents independent and active as possible. The center offers double and single rooms that are cheery and comfortable. Our staff strives to make each resident’s stay as relaxing and home-like as possible. Services • Nursing Care • A Full Range of Therapies • Dietary Service • Recreational Activities • Chaplaincy • Behavioral/Emotional Care • Barber/Beauty Shop Secure Memory Care: Rainbow Center Our Rainbow Center is a special care unit, located within the Glenwood Village Care Center, for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Skilled nursing care is provided, along with a full range of therapies. Specially designed programs, including social events, activities and spiritual services are also available. An Alzheimer’s Support Group meets monthly. Family members and friends who are affected by a loved one who has developed Alzheimer’s Disease or a related illness are invited to participate in the support group. In a time that may be frightening and confusing, the Rainbow Center staff makes each resident feel the comfort and familiarity that is so important. Family participation is encouraged.
