United Way of Freeborn County unites people and resources to improve lives.
About This Cause
United Way of Freeborn County is a community change organization that fights for the education, health, and financial stability of every person in our community. Freeborn County is a fantastic place to live, work, play, and raise a family. But too often, there are people in Freeborn County who are left behind and don’t share in the vitality. An unacceptable income gap. Geographic and socio-economic segregation. Personal and collective isolation. Gross inequities along racial and ethnic lines. These conditions and more cause Freeborn County to be experienced differently by people in need. United Way fights to erase divisions, bridge divides, and right inequities. We work to connect people with resources that change lives and transform our community. The United Way of Freeborn County focuses on addressing Education, Income and Health, the three building blocks for a good quality of life. We provide support for programs ranging from early childhood education to transportation and job services to assisting older people to remain independent. We work with any organization that is invested in creating meaningful change and have several internal programming to fill the gap. Often we serve as a "incubator" for new programming, helping support it under the UWFC umbrella, or with another Partner Agency.
