Mission Statement
The Food Group (formerly Emergency Foodshelf Network) is a full service food bank, providing quality, nutritious food and support services to more than 200 hunger relief partners. The Food Group is a strategic provider of services -- providing services through both agencies and directly to families. We identify gaps in service and work with community partners to fill those gaps -- focusing on distributing quality, nutritious, and culturally specific foods.
About This Cause
The Food Group's (formerly Emergency Foodshelf Network) mission is to be an innovative food bank dedicated to serving the needs of hungry people in our community. The Food Group's programs work together to ensure that local hunger relief agencies have the resources to provide emergency and supplemental food to their clients today and into the future. The Food Group programs include central food banking activities of providing bulk food (both purchased and free) and foodshelf support as well as creative community based supplemental food programs. In 2017 The Food Group distributed 7,098,923 pounds of food to its 251 partner programs, serving more than 2.2 million individuals.
