Our mission is to build stable homes, strong futures, and vibrant communities. CommonBond's vision is that every person has a dignified, affordable home that supports independence and advancement within a flourishing community.
About This Cause
A safe, stable home is the foundation for everything in life. Everything. That’s why we believe a home is more than a building. It must be a place where each person can find what they need to meet their goals and build their best life. In other words, a CommonBond community. Since the early 1970s, CommonBond Communities has provided homes and support for those most in need. We were founded in part as a response to racial and economic injustices. Today, nearly 50 years later, injustices still exist and our mission is more relevant than ever. For nearly five decades, CommonBond has witnessed the profound transformations that occur when people step into an environment of stability and support. Children do better in school. Teens graduate from high school. Adults find jobs, and older adults maintain their independence. We own or manage over 100 high-quality, affordable apartments and townhomes across Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, yet we also know an affordable apartment alone doesn’t make a home. The buildings are just the first step in creating a strong foundation where residents feel a sense of community and can find the support they need to help them reach their goals. We provide an integration of housing with services that supports residents each and every day. Our services give kids the tools they need to be successful in school and life, and help adults get better jobs so their wages can support their families. Our tailored services support seniors in living independently longer, and assist veterans with maintaining stability. We are CommonBond. We build stable homes, strong futures, and vibrant communities.
