Lord of Life Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. As a member of the ELCA, Lord of Life is related to over 11,000 congregations in the United States and Caribbean, representing approximately 5,000,000 individuals. The national church, along with the Minneapolis Area Synod, provides guidance and support to Lord of Life. The congregation retains primary leadership and control in decision-making, administrative and financial planning, building and property acquisition and maintenance, and planning in regards to its future. Lord of Life's independence has been successfully maintained and managed through the knowledge, talents, creativity, support and energy of Lord of Life's staff, members and its governing body, the Congregation Council. 1978 LORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN CHURCH CHARTER Lord of Life is a community of people called together by God’s Holy Spirit who confess Christ as Lord. We wish to be a church whose door is open to all people. And with the guidance of the Holy Spirit we will strive to educate, comfort, aid and spread the word of love in Christ’s name. We believe worship is of most importance in our life together as we receive God’s love through Word and Sacrament. We will be involved with seeking justice in our community, state, nation, and world. We hold high the dignity and worth of every human being as created in God’s image and forgiven in Christ. We hope to be a serving church, in the name of Him who came as Servant of all.
