Mission Statement

The Rochester Running Club (RRC) empowers runners of all ages, abilities, and levels of fitness, through organized group runs, community events and activities, and information to keep runners moving. Whether running for fun, to improve or maintain health, or for the love of competition, RRC helps runners achieve goals from a first 5k to completing a marathon and beyond.

About This Cause

The Rochester Running Club has a long, rich history as a volunteer led and supported organization. Founded in 1969 as `Rochester Track Club`, RRC continues to hosts and supports youth and adult running and fitness in Rochester and SE Minnesota. An excellent example is RRC's `All Comer Meets`, which have been held annually for over 52 years. In 2023, over 400 families and 700 children participated in the meets. RRC also collaborates and supports area high school cross-country and track teams, and non-profits to support youth fitness (e.g. Boys & Girls Club running camps). We host weekly group runs year-round (including two distance training programs); and some competitive races. Over 630 individuals subscribe to our free weekly emails. We also offer area organizations access to low-cost race equipment for their fundraising events. Area race directors have free access to use many RD resources including RRC's website, calendar and emails. In recent years, RRC volunteers were instrumental in leading and gathering community support to save and improve the only track open to the public (used by All Comers). RRC worked with the City of Rochester to be recognized by Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) for `Runner Friendly Communities` recognition (2021-2026), and a `Kids Run The Nation` grant.
