American Indian OIC is a workforce development agency that helps low-income individuals secure employment in positions that have opportunities for career laddering and wage growth.
About This Cause
American Indian OIC was established in 1979 in response to the considerable employment and educational disparities faced by American Indian individuals living in and around Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since then, the organization has established itself as a multi-faceted education and employment agency that offers secondary education, adult basic education and GED services, vocational training, and individualized career services. All of these programs aim to provide participants with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to be successful in today's labor market. American Indian OIC serves approximately 1,000 individuals annually and although it was founded to serve individuals of American Indian descent, many of its programs are open to anyone regardless of race, creed, age, gender, or sexual orientation.
