Mission Statement

Connecting animals in need with people who care.

About This Cause

Carver Scott Humane Society (CSHS) was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved. CSHS works with a dedicated team of over 200 volunteers to provide foster-based care to animals before they are adopted into a new home. Additionally, we have a cat adoption space at our Animal Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart and Chuck & Don's to feature adoptable cats in their stores and host adoption events. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our innovative surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, which aims to keep pets in their homes, and prevent healthy and adoptable pets from entering the shelter/rescue system. We do this by providing resources for affordable veterinary care, food, supplies and training support. Helping people in our community keep their pets rather than surrender them creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout Minnesota. Thank you for being a part of the CSHS family and helping us reach more animals and people in our community!
