Mission Statement

Mission: We reduce hunger in our community and restore hope to the people we serve. Vision: As people of faith, our vision is to eliminate hunger through community partnerships.

About This Cause

The Monticello Help Center was organized in 1974 by members of several churches in the Monticello community. These concerned citizens recognized that there were needs in the area and set out to meet those needs. It was soon incorporated as Monticello Christian Social Services, Inc. and included food and clothing services for people in need in our community. Over the years, the Help Center has developed and grown to meet the changing needs of Monticello residents. Currently the Help Center operates many programs, providing supplemental food, clothing, and household items. The Help Center offers monthly food shelf visits, vouchers for free clothing and household items at each visit, food delivery for seniors and disabled clients, Thanksgiving baskets, a backpack program in partnership with the Monticello School District, and summer food for children through the Kids Kitchen program. In addition, the Help Center works in partnership with several area churches to provide an emergency gas voucher program. In partnership with area businesses, schools, churches, civic groups, and many caring individuals, we strive to eliminate hunger in our community and to provide hope to those we serve.
