Mission Statement
Seasons Hospice is a community based nonprofit hospice providing specialized care and support to persons living with a terminal illness while giving support to their loved ones. Our service area is within the city of Rochester and a thirty-mile radius around the city, encompassing seven counties including Dodge, Fillmore, Goodhue, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona counties.
About This Cause
The mission of Seasons Hospice is to provide individualized and compassionate care, education and support for the dying and those who have experienced loss. Since 1996, Seasons has cared for individuals in need of hospice care wherever they call home, whether it is a private residence, nursing home, assisted living, group home or other residential environments. In 1997, Seasons Hospice opened the first independent, medicare-certified residential hospice facility in Minnesota. This lovely eight bed private facility is located in rural southwest Rochester on 13 wooded acres. Seasons Hospice utilizes a team approach that consists of nurses - both RN's and LPN's, licensed social workers, chaplains for spiritual support, massage and music therapy and our medical director who oversees our patients' care, working with the individual's own physician. Trained volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team, providing valuable companionship, light housekeeping duties, transportation assistance and other duties. Pet therapy is provided to patients, with visits provided by a registered therapy dog and trained volunteer handler. Seasons Hospice also has a "Vet to Vet" program whereby Veteran volunteers pay visits to dying Veterans on our program to offer a final salute and present with a packet complete with a certificate, lapel pins and more, in honor of their service to our country. Hospice care is available to anyone with a life-limiting illness whose life expectancy is six months or less. Referrals to hospice can be made by doctors, hospital staff, relatives, friends or even the patient.
