About This Cause
Started in 1991 as Chopstix Percussion, Chops, Inc. has expanded to become an accomplished marching arts and music education organization. Our members come from all walks of life, from high school and college students that lack a marching program at their own schools to adults looking to continue enriching their lives through music performance. Our award-winning performance groups include: -Our 3 parade groups: Chopstix Percussion, Top Chops Brassline, and Hot Chops Colorguard. These ambassadors of music and fun are popular fare at parades, combining precision drill and music with a fun flair in our signature Hawaiian shirts and red high-top shoes. -Chops Drum & Bugle Corps. This is the competitive performing group, appearing in local and national field shows over the summer. Chops provides a full marching experience on a part-time schedule and has several regional and national accomplishments including: -Drum Corps Midwest: 1999 Best Drum Major (our first year in competition), 2004 Championship Finalist -Drum Corps Associates: 2005 Class A World Champion, 2006 Best Percussion, 2008 Class A Finalist -Chops Percussion Indoor and Chops Winterguard. Our indoor performance groups compete during the winter months, putting innovative marching and dance shows on a basketball court.
