Mission Statement
Keane Sense of Rhythm's Mission: To preserve, present, create, and expand the boundaries of American Tap Dance. We accomplish our mission through education, creating new works, performing, presenting tap events, collaborating with other artists, and investing in youth. Keane Sense of Rhythm is where tap grows a community.
About This Cause
Keane Sense of Rhythm is a catalyst for the growth of American tap dance in the Twin Cities. It is a place where students and professionals can share, grow, and explore rhythm and movement. From passionate beginners to professionals, we serve all. Students learn basic to advanced skills, improvisation, musicality and joy! Our students have expanded their artistic talents and improved their leadership skills. Our goal is to go beyond creating dancers, but to develop people who understand the value of arts and arts education. Keane Sense of Rhythm builds community through tap dance. We have a developed a comprehensive grade school program that uses tap to enrich students after-school experiences. The program can be brought into elementary schools and middle schools. Keane Sense of Rhythm creates an exciting, relevant opportunity for students to discover healthy ways of self-expression through weekly tap class to students of five urban, low-income grade schools, two new summer programs, and a new daily middle after-school tap program.
