About This Cause

The Friends of the Ashland County Park District (ACPD), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, is dedicated to supporting the Ashland County Park District (ACPD) in Ashland, Ohio. The Friends of ACPD are the primary fundraising organization for the Davy McClure Outdoor Education Center. Davy McClure was an Ashland County Park District Commissioner until his passing in 2020. It was Davy's dream to have a permanent education center within the parks to host educational programs to allow young people to learn about conservation and nature. The Davy McClure Outdoor Education Center will be built at the Tom Kruse Wildlife Conservation Park, which consists of 80 acres of park land featuring wildlife, rolling meadows, a wooded ravine, and a pond.
