Mission Statement
Hope Begins Here! At ECH Every Child's Hope, more than 200 staff members across St. Louis and Kansas City campuses are dedicated to preventing child abuse, treating emotional trauma and mental health issues, and providing aftercare and follow-up services. Each year ECH helps more than 1,400 youth and children find healing and hope for their futures. Through our diverse programs, we strive to strengthen families and encourage all family members to reach their full potential by leading healthy, productive, and self-sufficient lives. Our programs include: • Residential Treatment - 24 hour therapeutic care • Steppingstone Transitional Living • ECH School - an alternative K to 12 school • Early Education Center - a head start licensed facility • Family Solutions for Kids - community based programs for children & families • Out-Patient Psychiatric Services • Foster Care Case Management
About This Cause
ECH Every Child’s Hope was founded on January 20, 1858 by Rev. Louis Nollau, as an orphanage for children whose immigrant parents had died from cholera outbreaks. Today Every Child’s Hope is no longer an orphanage, but caring for vulnerable children is still at the heart of each program. More than 200 staff members across St. Our programs include: • Residential Treatment: Our St. Louis campus offers services for up to 55 emotionally-troubled, neglected, and abused children ages six to 18. • Steppingstone Transitional Living: With sites in St. Louis and Kansas City, this program serves youth 16-21 who are homeless, at-risk, or aging out of foster care by providing housing, life skills training, case management, education assistance, and help in finding employment. The goal is for youth to successfully transition into adulthood. • ECH School: This K-12 school provides individualized education for children with behavior and mental health issues that prevent them from being successful in a regular classroom. The school is licensed and serves children from our residential treatment program and from surrounding school districts. • Early Education Center: Working with Head Start, the Center administers developmentally-appropriate curriculum to foster the social, physical, intellectual and language development of low-income children from infants through age six. • Family Solutions for Kids: This community-based program offers therapy and personal counseling for individuals and families, including in-home therapy and family reunification. • Out-Patient Psychiatric Services: Psychiatric assessment, medication management, and therapy are available for children ages four through 19 who reside in St. Louis County. • Foster Care Case Management: ECH provides intensive case management focused on safety and permanency for children being fostered by Missouri Children’s Division in St. Louis County, St. Louis City. St. Charles County, Cole County, and Franklin County
