Mission Statement
Since 1982 and guided by our Mission, Our Lady’s Inn provides pregnant women and their children shelter and hope for a new life through humble acts of love. Our Lady’s Inn provides a loving home and an array of services supporting pregnant women and their children suffering with homelessness. For more than 35 years these families have been sheltered and supported in their efforts to live healthy and productive lives, attain educational goals, gain employment, and secure stable housing.
About This Cause
Our Lady’s Inn is a maternity home for pregnant women living in homelessness. With locations in St. Louis City and St. Charles County, OLI offers around the clock shelter, in a private room setting for these women and for their dependent children. OLI provides for the immediate and basic needs of food, clothing and shelter and supports families with case management and specialized programming. Longer-term solutions can be sought to address their personal health, educational and psychosocial needs. Women in the residential program are supported by a Family Specialist, Nurse and Counselor along with an array of program support staff. The Family Specialist provides case management services, working with the family to achieve their specific educational, employment and housing goals. Registered nurses offer on-site pre- and post-natal care and education to ensure healthy pregnancies, healthy babies and healthy children. On staff Clinical Therapists work through acute crisis issues with residents and provide long-term, professional counseling. Therapists work with community resources to coordinate additional outside services needed by our families. Residents share in household chores, learn life skills and establish a daily routine. They attend workshops and multi session trainings which cover topics such as parenting, nutrition, employment readiness, educational preparedness, stress management, smoking cessation, pre-natal and post-natal care, mental health screening, budgeting, domestic violence prevention, child development and building healthy relationships. Resources for spiritual wholeness are offered and some transportation is provided. Field trips and some recreational activities are also incorporated into the lives of our families.
