Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide academic enrichment and positive socialization in a culturally sensitive and safe environment. Our intent is to develop youth who are critical thinkers and who will be engaged in the positive well-being of their community.
About This Cause
Since 1980, the Youth Council for Positive Development has been committed to the physical, emotional and academic safety and nurturing of young people. Although our concern is for all young people placed in risk in the St. Louis region, our target has been around our community center where the levels of poverty, crime and hopelessness are most prevalent. Our goals have been to support youth and their families through policy and legislative reforms as well as through our programs and partnerships which help to strengthen families and neighborhoods.
