Mission Statement
United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas works to advance the education, health, and financial stability of every person in our communities.
About This Cause
United Way supports a network of 28 programs provided by 25 partner agencies across Jasper and Newton Counties in Southwest Missouri and Cherokee, Crawford, and Labette Counties in Southeast Kansas. Our focus areas are: 1: Ensuring children enter school ready to succeed, read proficiently by 3rd grade, graduate on time, and get a jump start on life. 2: Promoting healthy behaviors and increasing the number of individuals in our communities who live a healthy lifestyle, eat well, are physically active, avoid substance abuse and have access to healthcare as well as personal safety services for those faced with substance abuse, child abuse, or domestic violence. 3: Reducing the number of financially unstable individuals and families through employment, job skills training, financial literacy programs, and access to affordable housing and childcare.
