Mission Statement
To provide financial aid to students attending Lone Star College-CyFair without regard to race, creed, national origin, sexual preference or immigration status.
About This Cause
In 2011, Marian Didwell-Liebling and Scott Liebling were inspired to start this scholarship fund after hearing first-hand stories of financial need from students they met on a legislative lobbying trip to Austin. The Lieblings were determined to help these intelligent and ambitious students who refused to let life's hardships deter them from pursuing a higher education. Many of these students are immigrants or first generation Americans and are often the first in their families to go to college. A sizeable number are not American citizens, and are hence ineligible to receive other forms of financial aid. To date, the Didwell-Liebling Opportunity Scholarship has donated over $42,000 to students attending Lone Star College-CyFair. 100% of all donations go directly to providing financial aid to students.
