Mission Statement
The Chinese community has been part of the Portland area for over 150 years, and is an essential part of Portland and Pacific Northwest society today. The goals of the Northwest Chinese Alliance are to broaden public awareness and appreciation of traditional Chinese arts and culture, to provide resources, training and networking to member organizations and individuals, to engage the local Chinese community to outreach to the general community to increase the understanding of the culture and history of the ethnic groups, and to build capacity for future leaders and performers in the local community.
About This Cause
The mission of the Northwest Chinese Alliance is to broaden public awareness and understanding of Chinese arts and culture; ant to engage the local Chinese community to outreach to Northwest/Oregon general community. Our programs aims to cover the following areas: - Represent the Portland Metro Chinese Community to perform in the annual Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade - Support programs on Chinese American history, especially in the Pacific Northwest USA. - Provide opportunity to develop new generations of leaders in our community. - Be a resource, and supporter of other organizations with similar missions, to the local community.
