WORKERS DIGNITY PROJECT

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, 37210-5347 United States

Mission Statement

Workers’ Dignity is a worker center acting collectively for economic and racial justice, and dignity of all. We believe those most directly-affected by injustice are best situated to enact institutional change. Led by low-wage workers in Nashville, Tennessee, we develop concrete solutions to systemic abuses by building power through relationships with fellow low-wage workers and our allies.

About This Cause

As a multiracial organization building worker power in Nashville, we are focused on helping workers organize to for workers safety and to stop wage theft, which steals billions of dollars across the country every year from the workers whose labor keeps the nation running. WDYO 104.1FM, Nashville's worker-run radio station has built a large audience of listeners through regular programming, especially through online streaming interviews with freedom fighters across the country and in Puerto Rico who have been on the frontlines of organizing for systemic change. These interviews have provided best practices for organizing here, as well as analysis of the root causes of oppressive systems under which low-wage workers - especially women, gender non-conforming and people of color communities are living.
