Green Bronx Machine builds healthy, equitable, and resilient communities through inspired education, local food systems, and 21st Century workforce development. Dedicated to cultivating minds and harvesting hope, our school-based model using urban agriculture aligned to key school performance indicators grows healthy students and healthy schools to transform communities that are fragmented and marginalized into neighborhoods that are inclusive and thriving.
About This Cause
Green Bronx Machine is a whole school program with curriculum in every content and subject area that grows vegetables, students and transforms health, provides school improvement and promotes community / economic development. Rooted in urban farming, indoor vertical farming, health, wellness, nutrition, mindfulness and college and career readiness; we serve marginalized, low-status and food challenged neighborhoods with health and economic disparities via classroom curriculum, teacher training, professional development, workforce development, after school programming, day camp and food access / farm building. Our services and programs can be comprehensive or a la carte. Our unique selling point is that we are a full service ENTIRE school program that changes health and school performance outcomes simultaneously.
