The SEED School of Miami is a tuition-free, college-preparatory, public boarding school for South Florida students. Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational program that empowers students to be successful, both academically and socially, in college and beyond.
About This Cause
The SEED School of Miami is South Florida’s first and only college-preparatory, public boarding school. Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational program that empowers students to be successful, both academically and socially, in college and beyond. Our school was created for students, grades 6-12, who most need a 24-hour environment and recruits a diverse population of students, typically first-generation college bound, from South Florida’s most under-resourced communities. When you give to The SEED School of Miami you are directly contributing to the success of our scholars in college and beyond. Your gift will be used towards campus upgrades, after school programming, college exposure opportunities, gap scholarships, & more! 24 Hours to Grow: With the extra time afforded by our unique boarding program, we are not limited by the confines of a classroom. At SEED Miami, our students live on our college-prep campus from Sunday evening through Friday afternoon. Leveraging the advantage of a 24-hour program, SEED extends beyond the traditional school day, challenging students to excel in a rigorous academic environment, preparing them for college, and instilling essential character traits for lifelong success—perseverance, self-confidence, and self-discipline. All of this occurs in a safe, structured, and predictable environment, which includes three healthy meals a day, consistent relationships with excellent role models, daily academic challenges and support, and extensive programs in athletics, visual and performing arts, and service. Students are held to strict performance standards and undergo assessments to ensure their progress toward college readiness. Our Goal is College Graduation: SEED Miami is committed to college success and utilizes the College Transition & Success program, a targeted and proven model that includes a unique college matching process. Additionally, each scholar is supported (beginning in 12th grade and continuing throughout their college careers) by a dedicated SEED College advisor. Remarkably, 100% of SEED Miami Graduates have been accepted into 2- or 4-year collegiate programs.
