Mission Statement
Green Lents fosters and supports community-based projects that provide volunteer, education, and leadership opportunities to residents in and around the Lents neighborhood in Portland, Oregon, to support a thriving and sustainable community.
About This Cause
Green Lents was organized by, and is managed by, community members of the greater Lents neighborhood who volunteer their time and resources to help increase community volunteer involvement in planning and undertaking various projects to help improve the livability and sustainability of our community. Green Lents supports a Community Tool Library, various watershed improvement projects, including establishment of the Malden Court Community Orchard, and partners with local governmental agencies and other community-based organizations and countless community volunteers. Green Lents was founded in 2009 and incorporated in September, 2011, as an Oregon Domestic Nonprofit Corporation (#80050-90). On October 3, 2012, the Internal Revenue Service certified Green Lents, as a tax exempt (501-c-3) public charitable organization (EIN: 45-3603079)
