Mission Statement
The Makuyu Education Initiative is a children's home in the village of Makuyu, Kenya, committed to providing a home to underprivileged children. Founded in 2011, the children's home also provides those children with free meals every day to help fight malnutrition, and to ensure they don't learn on an empty stomach. This initiative is local, accountable, direct and efficient. We have a small, dedicated staff in the U.S., none of whom receive a salary. All donations go directly to the children's home.

Due to our lean size, commitment to our mission, and a close relationship with caretakers and administrators who run the children's home, a donation makes a real difference. Your donations go directly to supporting the children. Our trained staff are thoughtful in spending contributions that allows for high efficiency.
