Mission Statement

At LoveManifest we love our neighbors tangibly, by providing clean drinking water, cataract surgeries, medical care, and orphan care to the poorest areas of the world. Whether by food, clean water, medical care, or a refuge for the oppressed, together our love can manifest in the most wonderful way and bring salvation to those who are desperate and in need.

About This Cause

LoveManifest chooses to focus on the most critical needs of clean drinking water and basic medical care while also caring for the most vulnerable. The orphaned child and the special needs child of the lowest caste in India. We do this by proving a home where more than 60 children ages 5 - 10 are housed, fed, clothed, educated and loved, preparing them for higher secondary education, and a future far beyond the one they were facing. Our special needs program focuses on children and their mothers, bringing therapies and special education first inside their own home and advancing to the LoveManifest Rehabilitation Center. Mothers are trained in how to care for their children and perform these therapies during their home hours. This allows the children to remain inside of the home rather than removing the child as is the case with most programs. Why Mothers of Disabled Children as Rehabilitation Workers? Mothers are the child's first and natural teachers and it makes sense that they perform this role. Mothers occupy the position of greatest responsibility in familial childcare and play an important role in determining the impact that disabled children have on their families and community. Apart from social and emotional problems, mothers understand the physical stress in raising a special needs child. Although these mothers lack formal education they will become very effective rehabilitation workers because of their tact, devotion, and compassion. Armed with these personal qualities and training, these mothers will devise lesson plans, conduct physical therapy exercises, teach sign language and Braille, counsel families, organize support groups, network with community agencies, and prepare and implement home based programs in unison with families. They will eventually become community health workers organizing community prevention and intervention workshops on disability, health and integrated education, and play an advocacy role promoting grassroots participation. Self-Help Groups (SHG) Additional mothers are recruited to form a Self-Help Group (SHG). Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator and Special Education Teachers, mothers are given hands-on training in the assessment and rehabilitation of their children. Mothers learn about prenatal and postnatal child care, healthy breastfeeding practices, immunization, and nutrition. The SHG also organizes community awareness programs to teach families about various causes, rehabilitation models, and preventive measures. These awareness programs help to change the perception of the villagers to ensure community engagement and participation. Finally, an association has been established to provide training for income generation to create family economic independence and financial stability for the community at large.
