The mission of Amachi Pittsburgh is to empower young minds to overcome the challenges of parental incarceration and to reach their full potential.

About This Cause

Amachi Pittsburgh addresses a significant and critical gap in community services reaching vulnerable youth not served by other organizations. Our core programs include One-On-One Mentoring, Family Strengthening and Reunification Support, and Amachi Ambassadors Leadership Development and Youth Organizing. Amachi Pittsburgh distinguishes itself from other mentor programs by providing a full complement of evidence-based, holistic services, allowing participants to not only learn to cope with challenges, but to thrive at home, school and in life.
