Mission Statement
There With Care’s mission is to provide a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life’s day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.
About This Cause
A diagnosis of critical illness changes the life of a family in an instant. The simplest daily tasks become overwhelming when parents are faced with the burden of caring for their child during a medical crisis. There With Care of the Bay Area works with hospitals and social workers to support the entire family during emotionally, financially, and physically challenging times. From fulfilling life’s basic day-to-day obligations to the isolation created when friends or family don’t know what to say or do, There With Care is the link between those who want to help and those who need it. The meaning of support is unique for each family. There With Care provides direct services through the following programs: • HOME STABILITY: Ensures a family's household is clean and safe by providing cleaning products and other household supplies. • PATIENT AND FAMILY ESSENTIALS: Ensures the basic needs of all family members are met by providing clothing, strollers and cribs, activity bags, books, toys and games, feminine care products, baby items, toiletries and professional assistance. • TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE: Ensures a family can safely and reliably take their child to and from their treatments, school, activities, and visit their child at the hospital if inpatient. Includes gas cards, Uber or Lyft gift cards, and infant car seats. • FOOD SECURITY: Ensures a family has access to warm and nutritious, easily prepared meals with grocery deliveries, grocery gift cards and bedside meals. These services are intended to alleviate day-to-day stresses so that parents can have a stronger, more stable family unit and can focus on caring for their critically ill child.
