Mission Statement
The Lubbock Dream Center exists to bring hope to the hopeless and to inspire dreams to those that we serve.
About This Cause
The story of the Lubbock Dream Center began with a vision birthed from the hearts of Jackie and Linda White. This dream quickly spread to the entire community including churches, businesses and other non-profit organizations, bringing a sense of unity to the heart of Lubbock. Their vision was to invest in the lives of families in the Lubbock community by developing an outreach facility that would meet basic needs while promoting an enhanced quality of life. Their desire to see hope restored and to inspire people to ‘dream again’ became a reality in 2010 when the Lubbock Dream Center opened and began serving the great city of Lubbock. The Lubbock Dream Center is a non-profit organization located in an economically disadvantaged, often overlooked neighborhood of Southeast Lubbock. The Lubbock Dream Center is dedicated to investing in the lives of others, restoring hope and dignity, and increasing the ability of individuals and families to become self-sufficient. This organization is committed to those individuals and families in desperate need of a dream as well as those willing to help others reach their dream. The Lubbock Dream Center was awarded a generous grant through the JT and Margaret Talkington Foundation. This grant afforded the Lubbock Dream Center the opportunity to take the services being provided to a higher level. With the addition of the Talkington Life Center in April 2015, the Lubbock Dream Center has been able to serve and reach more families, empowering them to realize their capacity to make decisions that can change the world around them. This building has become a beacon of hope in the darkness of poverty that surrounds so many families in the Lubbock community. Currently, the Lubbock Dream Center Campus serves an average of 1600 people each week. The Lubbock Dream Center consistently offers over 35 programs that help improve health status, quality of life, economic increase, neighborhood improvements, and personal growth. The Lubbock Dream Center Campus addresses many of the recognizable needs in the community as well as those needs that are hidden behind the walls of rejection.
