About This Cause
Mercy House Adult and Teen Challenge (“Mercy House”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 2010. Our campus in Georgetown, Mississippi houses up to 75 men who are seeking help from their addiction. Since opening, over 2,500 men, ranging from 18 to 65 years of age, have walked through the doors of Mercy House. Mercy House is the largest rehabilitation center in the State of Mississippi. Mercy House’s mission is to see broken families restored, one man at a time, by teaching men the skills necessary to live a productive life and to see the family unit restored. Our program is designed to help men achieve their full potential as leaders in their homes and communities. We focus on a broad approach to recovery that features a faith-based curriculum centered on inner healing, along with practical steps in day-to-day activities. We are seeing great results with the training provided by Mercy House, through the curriculum and through the work-study program implemented. In 2014, Mercy House was endorsed by Phil Bryant, former governor of Mississippi, as a leading resource for recovery in our state. Our graduate success rate is between 50 to 65%, which is far higher than most short-term programs. That is one of the reasons why we believe our long-term approach to recovery is most successful. We have 30 staff members leading the students, both on campus, and at our various industries. An amazing fact is that the majority of our staff are graduates of Mercy House! These are men who completed the program successfully and are giving back, both to the program and to their communities.
