Mission Statement

Provide education and life skills for Kenyan teenage mothers, and early childhood education for their children, so that they may achieve their full potential in their communities and the world.

About This Cause

Imara is a rescue mission for pregnant teenagers in Kenya, providing medical care through the birth of their child. Beautiful babies are delivered, mom and baby are welcomed into Imara House. Moms pursue appropriate education, studying for Kenyan Education Certificates. Baking, Sewing and Salon skills are taught in the Imara Skills Center. Babies are nurtured, receiving early childhood education where they flourish. At age 18, Imara moms prepare to live more independently. With the guidance of a matron, the moms are employed, managing their own budget, and caring for their children. Imara readies these young moms to support themselves and their children with a brighter future. The future of Imara is a 20-acre site along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Adjacent to the 140 square mile Ol Pejeta Conservatory, Imara Village is a secure complex, planned to offer housing, training, and educational facilities on site. The Imara Village property is already providing food for Imara House with citrus trees and crops producing, in addition to goats and sheep.
