About This Cause

Founded in 2010 by author Dave Eggers, ScholarMatch began as a San Francisco-based crowdfunding platform for scholarships and quickly evolved into a college access and persistence organization, serving underserved first-generation students from low-income backgrounds. We work virtually to provide game-changing college counseling, free online tools, strategic scholarships, and critical support services. Today, ScholarMatch makes college possible for more than 1,000 students annually. Our work includes virtual college access centers in San Francisco and Los Angeles, a virtual college coaching program for high school seniors across the country, as well as college scholarships, college persistence, and career readiness programming. We look forward to continuing this vital work to support students nationwide, at every point of the college journey. ___ 2021-2022 By the Numbers 1,300 students reached 976 students served 456 active volunteer coaches from all across the nation $1,113,391 scholarships awarded 95% freshman retention rate 3.28 average GPA 80% 5-year graduation rate ___ ScholarMatch is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. ___ Follow us on social media! https://www.facebook.com/ScholarMatch https://www.instagram.com/scholarmatch_hq/ https://twitter.com/ScholarMatch https://medium.com/scholarmatch
