Mission Statement

We identify, fund, scale, and measure the apparel and footwear industry’s proven environmental impact solutions.

About This Cause

The apparel and footwear industries generate significant global pollution impacts. For example, making one pair of jeans produces as much greenhouse gases as driving a car more than 80 miles, making reducing CO2 emissions and scaling clean energy a priority for Aii. We are meeting the industry’s need to reduce such environmental impacts, including supporting the United Nations’ goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Aii plays the critical role of a technical clearing house for our partner brands, manufacturers, and philanthropic donors, validating and aggregating proven environment initiatives. Our focus areas are energy, water, and chemistry. We are reinforcing our mission and scaling it across the world using the following steps: 1. Identify: We identify and validate opportunities that align with current industry roadmap interventions and industry demand. 2. Fund: We apply unique financial models across our program areas to build a pipeline of scalable impact in the apparel and footwear industry by catalyzing industry and philanthropic funding and organizing deployment around pre-seed innovation, program testing and de-risking, and accelerating validated impact programs 3. Scale: We accelerate implementation of impact programs and projects that meet our criteria for quality programming: science-based, measurable results, profitable, globally scalable. 4. Measure: Everything we do is data-driven, science-based and measured to provide the industry with turn-key solutions to meet environmental goals.
