Mission Statement
Mission - With family agreement, provide an individualized residential living/learning/physically active environment with caring adult supervision that holistically serves selected at-risk male middle/high school youth from under-resourced neighborhoods. Outcome Vision - To see our served youth become community-minded, productive men Method - Relocate at-risk youth to supportive nurturing housing with family agreement. Restore the youth's opportunity to reach their full potential through individualized support in a residential setting. Reinforce the restoration process by supporting the youth during their postsecondary education. Realize a future for the youth to become community minded, productive adults.
About This Cause
"P.U.R.E." stands for progressing under restraints and extremes. Students come to us three to four academic years behind due to gang involvement, bullying, lack of parental supervision, inadequate nutrition, incarcerated parents, and absenteeism. There are three components to our organization. There is "The P.U.R.E. Process", "P.U.R.E. Scholars", and "P.U.R.E. Athlete". The P.U.R.E. Process provides a solid foundation with access to positive role models, while providing a nurturing environment which aids in the development of the competencies necessary to become young adults. P.U.R.E. Scholars is designed to educate each student individually using an academic recovery curriculum following Tennessee Academic Standards, including Next Generation Science Standards. P.U.R.E. Athlete fosters physical and emotional wellness through increased physical activity and healthy eating habits.
