About This Cause

Oasis Youth Center was established in 1985 with a mission to create a safe place for LGBTQ+ youths aged 11-24 to connect, learn, and thrive. As the only organization responding to the unique needs of queer youths in Pierce County, Oasis has earned a reputation for being a trusted organization for over 38 years. Through its youth-adult partnership model, Oasis empowers youth to thrive by providing a safe space for them to gather outside of school hours, offering support from adult role models and mentors, activities with peers and opportunities for personal growth, access to education, information, resources, and support necessary for making meaningful and healthy life choices, and developing leadership skills.
