Mission Statement
In collaboration with partner agencies, PDX Diaper Bank provides no-cost diapers and diapering supplies to low-income and houseless families with young children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities living in Portland and the surrounding areas. We believe that everyone should have equitable access to necessary diapering supplies in order to live healthy and productive lives, as well as ease financial strain during the pursuit of personal, educational, and occupational success.
About This Cause
PDX Diaper Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2012. We are a support agency for other nonprofit and government agencies (such as schools) located in Portland OR, primarily Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties. Our growing network of partner organizations (which we provide diapers to monthly), help us get diapers into the hand of families that need them the most - those seeking emergency shelter, affordable housing solutions, vocational training, teen parents attending high school completion programs, parents in treatment/recovery facilities, individuals escaping domestic violence, and much more. PDX Diaper Bank has distributed over 2 million diapers to Oregon families in need, as well as diapering supplies to support emergency services e.g. evacuees of the Pacific NW Wildfires, families impacted by medical emergencies, communities impacted by COVID-19, apartment/household fires, and individuals seeking shelter from the extreme heatwaves.
