A home away from home for families of sick and injured children.
About This Cause
In 1983, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota first opened its doors to a home on Norton Avenue with nine bedrooms. Its purpose was to serve families who had children receiving medical care at a Sioux Falls hospital, and it implemented its mission of keeping families close to their families and children in order for their children to heal quicker with their parents by their side. Since then, that is still our mission. We are proud to serve families from across South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and beyond in hopes of alleviating the stress and pressure illness can bring and to keep the focus on their child's health and well-being. Now, we have two houses in Sioux Falls, one on 24th Street and and one on Lake Avenue.
