Mission Statement

The son of two military parents, NFL wide receiver Vincent Jackson understands firsthand the sacrifices and challenges faced by many military families. Upon moving to Tampa and realizing the large presence of military families in the area, Vincent and his wife Lindsey founded the Jackson in Action 83 Foundation in September 2012. The mission of the Jackson in Action 83 Foundation is to provide support to military families, focusing on the educational, emotional, and physical health of the children.

About This Cause

The foundation operates several annual programs for military children and families, including the Military Moms Baby Shower, Salute to Reading, Salute to Scholars, and Youth in Action Camp. The foundation has also completed many other events and activities in support of the military. Foundation programs center on a variety of issues ranging from youth literacy to physical health to veteran transition and family resiliency. In 2014, the foundation announced the publication of Danny Dogtags: Dealing with Deployment, a children’s book authored by Lindsey and Vincent Jackson. The goal of the book is to help military children and their parents cope with some of the emotional issues that deployment can bring. The second book in the series, Danny Dogtags: Soccer Superhero, was released in July 2016 and focuses on health and wellness. The third and final book in the Danny Dogtags series was published in early 2020. To learn more about the Jackson in Action 83 Foundation, visit our website at www.jacksoninaction83.org.
