Mission Statement

ChopArt provides dignity, community, and opportunity to middle and high school aged youth experiencing homelessness through multidisciplinary arts immersion and mentorship. We are headquartered in Atlanta, GA with additional programs in Hyderabad, India and Accra, Ghana.

About This Cause

Since our start in 2010 we've served over 40,000 teens worldwide through our year around programs within shelters and summer camps. Our CEO & Founder created ChopArt out of her own experiences with homelessness as a teen and finding the Arts as one of the only refuges available to her to work through those traumas. Our teens participate in weekly classes with their shelter lead mentors and present in quarterly visual and performing arts shows. These classes allow us to build the relationships necessary to make interventions for the risks associated with youth homelessness. They also allow us to track impact over time which has presented us with findings such as: teens participating in ChopArt are more goal oriented, trust themselves and others, and have a shorter anger cycle. Each summer, homeless teens all over the globe are able to participate in summer camps customized to their specific interests and backgrounds. Camp Envision is a 7-day overnight performing arts camp for 100 homeless teens hosted in Georgia, and is the only camp of its kind in the nation.
