About This Cause

We are a non-profit organization called Para Arts Foundation, Inc. Our purpose is to improve lives of disabled people with artistic inclinations by providing them with various venues of expressing their talents while addressing their special needs. Our organization is planning to fulfill our aspirations by accomplishing several goals: Support any talents of people with disabilities by promoting creative and visual arts events. Help disabled persons to enhance their artistic potentials by providing them with individualized education. Raise funds to launch several brands of various products to provide apparel for physically challenged individuals. Create film and video projects with and about artists with disability. For the next two years we would like: - To complete the 30 minute narrative film "I Want To Hear My Voice", about an artist with cerebral palsy ( fundraisng, pre-production, production, post-production, distribution). Films are proven to be an impactful way to shape public opinions and accelerate positive changes. That is why Para Arts Foundation needs to produce this film. It will be a breakthrough project that will help to raise awareness about the cerebral palsy and disability community in a unique, honest, and visually stunning way. At the same time, we believe the theme of inclusion and dignity will inspire many. It is a complex project with a number of locations, actors, and settings, but most important it will be one of the rarest fiction films starring actors with cerebral palsy in a main and principal roles. It's our way to inspire people with physical limitations to live life without limits. The script was a finalist of New Works Lab writer's collective at New York Women in Film and Television in 2020 (https://www.nywift.org). It was also a part of the NYWIFT Showcase where two actors with cerebral palsy performed along with 150 virtual audience members in attendance! This film will: TELL A UNIQUE STORY where two actors with cerebral palsy are in the lead and principal roles. SHOWCASE the limitless talents and potential of people with physical limitations. OVERCOME prejudice and bigotry toward the disability community. ENCOURAGE people with disability to be active members of society, visible, accepted, equal. INSPIRE EACH OF US to see a million magnificent possibilities within each other and within ourselves. The finished film will be screened in public venues such as the United Cerebral Palsy Society nationwide branches, other disability organizations, libraries, international film festivals, community centers, NYWIFT, ParaArt Foundation's upcoming events. More about the project: https://gofund.me/260c90e0 facebook.com/IWTHMVmovie @iwthmv21 - To produce and to promote a series of at least 20 video poems based on works of artists with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. These visually engaging minifilms will give disabled artists a unique representation and will be widely used to promote their creativity You can see a video project example based on a poem and painting from Victoria Gorelik here: https://www.paraarts.org/white-bird/ - To organize at least 12 "You and Me" events with at least two galas, where collaborative works of disable and non-disable artists are celebrated. Mobile Para Arts Cafe "YOU and Me" is a monthly gathering of disabled and non-disabled artists showcasing their art and talents held at accessible venues. Each event is structured as a networking creative hub where both disabled and non-disabled artists mingle and showcase their artistry in visual, literature, or performance art. The goal of this program is to create collaborative works between disabled and non-disabled artists in different art fields and genres. Works will be presented at a final gala where their achievements will be presented to the public. These events will help include them in the creative process and also help to overcome isolation, in which the disability community often exists. Involving the community will also help to establish dialog between disability and non-disability artists and city officials, hopefully resulting into project collaborations. - Publish anthology book of short form writings and art from artists with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. - To organize at least 5 exhibitions of art work from artists with cerebral palsy and other disabilities in each borough. Their art will be widely introduced to the public which will help stimulate their professional growth, support their portfolio, and gain them some recognition. It will introduce their work to the general public and will be promoted in addition to online exhibitions launched by the foundation: https://www.paraarts.org/category/online-exhibition-artvictory/ We hope and aim to improve the lives of disabled people, be an inspiration for them, and to educate everyone in the community through our artistic endeavors. As a an organization we want to help make change and be known as an entity contributing to projects that bring attention to the disabled community while also helping to
