Mission Statement
Sproutin' Up works to improve the lives of under-resourced children, teens and families in northern Colorado through farming and first job skills.
About This Cause
Sproutin' Up provides a variety of programs to improve the health of our community. Our summer youth programs teach kids ages 9-16 how to have their first job as well as valuable responsible decision making skills. Helping kids and families make the healthy choice the easy choice is fundamental to all we do. Kids learn how to grow and prepare their own healthy food, care for our environment, write resumes, develop customer service skills and much more. In addition, Sproutin' Up works with a variety of local organizations to promote health equity. We work with Salud Family Health Centers to provide fresh produce as a part of patients' healthcare visits and we provide educational sessions on food preparation on our farm. We also work to increase access to fresh produce by providing free produce to families in need as a way to increase the intake of produce for low-income families.
