Mission Statement
Build Africa is a development charity transforming education and livelihoods in rural Africa. We are dedicated to finding long-term solutions to poverty.
About This Cause
We currently support 100,000 people in Kenya and Uganda through dynamic programmes that help enable men, women and children to learn, earn and be happy. By improving teacher training and school resources, we ensure that children receive the quality education they need for their long-term development. At the same time we support savings and loans groups, entrepreneurial skills training and other initiatives to help families secure sustainable, productive livelihoods. Build Africa believes that having a good quality of life relies on the fulfilment of certain requirements: having enough nutritious food ensuring a healthy diet; being in good health; having a secure, reliable and sufficient income to cover existing and potential financial needs; having a safe and secure home to live in; to be educated to a level that provides long lasting benefits; and to have easy access to clean water. We believe that these aspects are closely connected and impact each other, and we aim to address these requirements in all the communities where we operate, to ensure that everyone we work with can live happier, healthier and more productive lives.
