Mission Statement

CARF: The Critical Animal Relief Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization located in Chicago, IL, dedicated to helping animals in critical need.

About This Cause

CARF: The Critical Animal Relief Foundation 501(c)3 provides urgent medical, surgical and fostering resources for non-terminal and terminal animals in need of safety, healing and the relief from pain and suffering when time is of the essence and resources are scarce. CARF works independently and in conjunction with other responsible rescue organizations with the ultimate goal of saving or bettering injured and/or orphaned animal lives and finding them responsible, caring permanent homes. CARF frequently focuses on animals with urban environment burn or frostbite injuries, limb and pelvic avulsions or fractures, blunt and sharp trauma injuries, congenital deformities, bite wounds, malnourishment from neglect or abandonment, shelter-related infectious exposures, timely evacuations due to shelter euthanasia deadlines, and neonatal maladies or critical needs. CARF is operated on a 100% volunteer basis, so all donations are dedicated for medical and surgical supplies and services for helping animals in need, with extremely minimal administrative overhead expenses.
