Mission Statement
We foster transformative exchanges between students in Ghana and the Pacific Northwest. We invite students to act as ambassadors for their school, community, and nation. We encourage students to develop their writing skills and powers of empathy. We seek to model and to emphasize service and partnership.
About This Cause
Yo Ghana! facilitates the exchange of letters and other educational and creative materials between schools in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. and Ghana in West Africa. We also provide grants that supplement school-improvement projects initiated by Ghana schools. Yo Ghana! hosts conferences in Ghana that bring together school staff and students. All of our board members and staff in the U.S. volunteer their time and pay their own travel expenses.
