Mission Statement
China China Residencies is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organisation dedicated to creating a comprehensive directory of creative residencies in China; researching organisational best practices; and fostering successful creative exchange for visiting artists.
About This Cause
China Residencies is a nonprofit creating a network of artist residency & cultural spaces in mainland China & Hong Kong, and supporting creative projects by artists, activists, and administrators through our five residency programs: the Crystal Ruth Bell residency in honor of China Residencies' founder, Crystal; the 二到三 residencies for Australians to return to 2nd & 3rd tier cities; the virtual #slowtrainresidency that happen in our Instagram; the Residency Knowledge Exchange for people who run residencies to learn from each other; and our Fiscal Sponsorship Program, where we support Wing on Wo's the WOW Project, BUFU, Yellow Jackets Collective, and starting in 2018, Transmigrant Flow. We believe diplomacy shouldn’t just be left up to politicians. Artists are cultural and social changemakers, and, in a world where people sometimes forget to listen to and learn from one another, we are passionate about creating opportunities for artists to bring a broader cultural understanding into their work and communities.
