About This Cause
Point B Design + Training is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by a designer, an engineer/artist and a professional development worker with more than thirty years experience. PointB has grown a talented global team of human centered design practitioners and facilitators. Our approach is to build the innovation capabilities of individuals, organizations and communities to apply mindsets, skills, and what we at PointB call ‘human centered design’, which is the ability to deeply understand a problem and design an appropriate, working solution. PointB has worked in Myanmar since 2013 and established a Learning and Social Innovation Lab on the campus of Mawlamyine University in Mon State. PointB offers a space where diverse stakeholders from academia, government, business and civil society may come together to engage in hands-on, project-based courses, research and community projects. PointB projects include: 21st Century Skills training and curriculum for teachers and students, Legal Awareness training and campaigns, Child Protection systems development, Marine and Coastal Conservation, Plastics reduction, innovation for Smallholder Rubber Farmers, Teacher Training, Human Centered Research. PointB has partnered with UNICEF, UNHCR, Swiss Development Cooperation Agency, CARE International, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UCSD), SheWIns (South Africa), University of Zurich, USAID, the International Rescue Committee, Helvetas, International Water Management Institute, and others to support the following services: Design Research and Strategy Facilitation, Content and Curriculum Development Systems Strengthening Ecosystem and User Journey Mapping Business Modeling Graphic Design, Illustration and Communications Innovation Capabilities Building With a full-time presence in both San Francisco and Myanmar, PointB is excited to offer our support for design research and design strategy.
