Mission Statement
The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation, through its fundraising efforts and community outreach, strives to create positive change in the lives of children and adults throughout the world through education and health services.
About This Cause
In April 2014, the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation defined itself as a grantmaking organization with focus on health and education for children and their families. HLF, like its founders Henrik & Therese, is an international organization, with focus on organizations in NYC, Sweden and a Swedish Charity doing work in the Dominican Republic. The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation is proud to support the following local and international organizations: -New York Presbyterian Children's Hospitals: provide outstanding care and specialized treatment, unique to kids with major illnesses. -Ronald McDonald Barnfond: make children facing major illnesses happier and healthier by keeping families together, giving them a place to rest and refresh that feels like home. -Together for Better: supports schools for children living in extreme poverty in the Dominican Republic. It was founded by Swedish journalist Ebba Lövenskiold. -Garden of Dreams Foundation: works with all areas of the Madison Square Garden Company to make dreams come true for children facing obstacles. Henrik has served as their spokesperson since 2009. In 2015, HLF launched its first foundation-run program, the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador Program because of Henrik & Therese's belief in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world. The HLFYA program, which spans an entire school year, requires selected participants aged 12-18 to complete a minimum of 15 hours of community service, organize 1 independent service project in support of children's health and education and to team up with HLF on a service project.
