PORTLAND COMMUNITY SQUASH

Portland, Maine, 04103 United States

Mission Statement

By building the first regulation squash facility in Maine, beyond the colleges, Portland Community Squash will provide Portland youth and adults with a versatile squash facility where paying members, junior leagues and an Urban Squash program will thrive under one roof. Membership fees will cover the operating expenses of the facility, the junior squash league will give students from the greater Portland area a chance to compete at the national level, and our Urban Squash program, Rally Portland, will combine squash, academic support, and community service to help students from low income backgrounds navigate the road from middle school to college graduation.

About This Cause

Portland Community Squash is resonating with groups all over the city and across the country. US Squash is calling our project the future of squash because we have created a financially sustainable urban squash program by integrating the urban program with broad community use of our facility. The Portland Schools are heralding our seven-year commitment to each student from 6th grade all the way to college, and 1,268 people have joined our mailing list since we formed the organization in 2013.
