Mission Statement
Portland Film Festival is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing filmmakers and audiences, and to celebrating the power of a good story. The festival focuses on the people, ideas, technology, skills, and artistry behind filmmaking and provides both entertaining and educational opportunities to the public.
About This Cause
In a world increasingly dominated by huge tent-pole films, independent voices are more vital to our culture, and more in need of support, than ever. Portland Film Festival brings a broad diversity of voices together on one stage—including artists from around the world, but also locals, women, LGBTQ, the Indigenous, LatinX and more. We host world famous guests and our #FutureFilmmakers program with the Boys & Girls Club gives educational experiences to underprivileged children. The festival has always been dependent on the energy and support of our volunteers. Volunteers are the lifeblood to our operation, because frequently they are film lovers and filmmakers too. We need volunteers before, during and after the Festival as well as year round to support our community outreach programs.
