Mission Statement
The Jaya Hanuman Temple and Cultural Center (JHTCC), is a non-profit association that caters to the religious, cultural and educational needs of a growing population of Indian families in the King County and Seattle area. We are establishing this temple to enable the following objectives - Perform religious services for Indian families using traditional procedures prescribed in Hindu religion - Providing prayer service - Teach Indian culture to kids growing in Indian families - Promote Indian arts like Classical singing, Classical dance, playing classical instruments - Preach moral code and conduct prescribed for a healthy and harmonious family life to indian families - Celebrate Indian festivals - Promote vedic language and teach Sanskrit verses to adults and kids - Invite scholars of hindu religion from USA, India and other countries and conduct discourses
About This Cause
Program: Teaching Indian Culture and Heritage Aim: As part of this program, Jaya Hanuman Temple and Cultural Center will work towards teaching and maintaining Indian Culture and Heritage. Any Donations we raise for this program will be used exclusively for teaching of Indian Culture and Heritage. Details of the Program: There are over 20,000+ families in the Greater Seattle area who are connected to India or would like to bring up their kids to understand the culture and heritage. This program will help many kids and adults to understand the Indian culture and learn the traditions. This program is a secular program and anyone can participate in any of the programs or Stage Performances. • Dance – Bharathanatiyam (Dance practiced in Tamil Nadu, India) • Dance – Kuchupidi (Dance practiced in Andhra Pradesh, India) • Songs – Various Indian Based songs • Musical Instrument – Violin (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violin) • Musical Instrument – Tabla (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabla) • Musical Instrument – Mridangam (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mridangam) • Teach Languages – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Sanskrit (Various Indian Languages) • Stage Performance – Provide a platform for the Kids to showcase their talents. • Stage Performances (Outside) – Bring people who are specialists in the various fields from outside and ask them to perform on-stage. This will help the kids and adults to get to see from the experts. Jaya Hanuman Temple and Cultural Center currently rents out conference rooms, free of cost to other non-profit organizations to teach various cultural activities (Eg: From Within Academy www.fromwithinacademy.org). We also perform Cultural Programs and host Cultural Programs in the Temple as well outside and provide a venue for the kids and adults to perform on stage. Participating on these programs are open to everyone. All donations we collect will be utilized for renting all the stage setup equipment, chairs, tables, lights, music systems, and various other items. If we rent the auditorium from High Schools outside, we have to pay the auditorium charges. All these programs are open for everyone.
